Gaming for a Cause with Brian Blackwood

Brian Blackwood

Brian Blackwood was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 22. Brian was as shocked as anyone, since he was an athletic young man who loved playing hockey and wrestling with his two brothers.

The journey since the diagnosis in 2014 has been full of ups and downs, but Brian came to the realization that the label didn’t have to put him “behind bars” so to say. A recent push to make the most of his health and life, his happiness has been motivated by a desire to help and inspire others. Brian is learning how take his burden and turn it to a blessing.

One of Brian’s biggest hobbies when he isn’t outside being active is playing video games. It’s helpful to have a fun and destressing outlet, especially on days when his symptoms flare up. He recently partnered with The National Multiple Sclerosis Society to stream his hobby, all while connecting to other members of the MS community.
